Matthew Keenan Curriculum Vitae
Matthew Keenan (b. 1985) is an artist and photographer currently based between Cardiff, Manchester and London. Their practice uses portraiture and still life to focus on themes of British male identity and sexuality. They have recently completed a Masters degree in Documentary Photography at the University of South Wales. They work using large format cameras and produce images on black and white film. For commissioned and freelance work, digital photography is employed.

2002-2016 Before returning to education at age 30 I worked principally as a carpenter, roof tiler and labourer. Many of the skills earned during this time have been transferable to my photographic practice, e.g. prop and set construction, gallery technician and exhibition installation.
